BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Guangdong Verbund site project would be BASF’s largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. The site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.

Main Tasks
- The position holder will be the single point of contact for coordination of any site commissioning activity during non-standard working hours. He or she needs to be be immediately accessible for the cluster commissioning teams in case of plan changes. The position holder will be entirely responsible to analyze the plan changes, to elaborate mitigation measures, if necessary, to re-plan, to coordinate with other affected clusters and to finally approve and communicate the plan changes during this period.
- Continuously track and follow-up the current site commissioning plan execution.
- Compiling a daily shift report and proper hand over to the next shift team.
- Organizing daily commissioning coordination meeting and compiling a daily commissioning report.
- Continuously coordinating the site commissioning process focusing on infra. pipeline, interfaces, third party tie-ins, balancing utility generation load and commissioning utilities demands.
- Leading the site emergency response during non-work hours.
- Training young co-workers/engineers.
- During normal working hours: support the site commissioning planning and interface team or cluster commissioning teams on demand.
- Establish work culture principals based on AM core values.
- Take safety responsibilities with detailed information in Annex.
Requirements
- Educational background: petrochemical engineering, oil & gas storage and transportation, thermal energy engineering disciplines, university/college
- Working experience: more than 20 years scheduler/planner/process engineer, coordination of initial startup and/or operation for big petrochemical sites.
- Software skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Language skills: read and write English, mother tongue Mandarin
