Position Overview
The Power and Energy Machine Building Vertical Manager is responsible for demand creation for Siemens products and services in the Power Generation end user manufacturing segment in China and other Asian markets. Success is measured by consumption of Siemens products and services in Power Industries end user community, and the driving of end user specification into the wider global OEM (Equipment manufacturer) and integrator market. The Vertical Manager will report into the MTS Segment and work closely with the MTS Team.
What are my responsibilities?
Goals/Mission:
- A strong focus on the Power and Energy Machine Building market and its associated supply chain will be a major responsibility of the role. The candidate will be required to provide marketing advice/leadership to operational units for overall market effectiveness.
- Leads strategic/business development plans to support market share objectives and profitable penetration of Industry Segment
- Consults the customer in specifying suitable Siemens production solutions, which improve his competitiveness, not only selling a single product line of Siemens. This includes the comprehensive software-portfolio of Siemens
- Expedites and escalates key customer complaints/problems as is required to obtain satisfactory and timely resolution.
- Incorporates results of market/other research and inputs from technology sources to assure Siemens designs and products can be specified or migrated by industry equipment providers including key automation integrators.
- Improving sales volume/market share through direct actions with nominated key Power Industry accounts
- Interfacing with relevant BU’s (Business Units) is essential to ensure opportunity management and project transparency and support.
Education:
a period of up to 4 years of regular study with a degree and extensive specialist additional qualification
or a more than 4-year period of regular study with a degree and related extended subject-specific additional qualification provided.
Knowledge/Languages:
- 5+ years of related experience
- The role will require excellent communication skills with previous account management experience
- A proven track record in business development preferably in Power or Energy Machine Building, and a wide and varied knowledge of Siemens Industrial Automation
- A personal network into the Power Generation or Energy industry and/or its supplying industries is a very advantageous asset
- A strong ability to plan and implement the overall Vertical Sales Segment (VSS) Power Industries strategies and initiatives, and where necessary coordinate with our applications team, product management, service management, and HQ in China and Germany
- Great communication, stakeholder and relationship management skills on all levels, internally and externally
- Working in a matrix team environment
- Entrepreneurial thinking and follow through in developing new opportunities
- Solid industrial automation experience, especially motion control, SINUMERIK is advantageous
- Complex system selling / value selling
- Readiness to represent Siemens as a global company internally and externally
- Proficient English and Chinese language skills mandatory, German is advantageous
