BAKERY APPRENTICE
PAK'nSAVE Rangiora is looking for someone who is interested in upskilling to become a qualified baker.
We ensure that our training and apprentice programme success rate sits at the top of the market. We are now looking for a food savvy individual who is interested in coming to train alongside a great team of bakers and see to a completion of your bakery training.
This is a permanent full time 40-hour position, working Tuesday – Saturday 4:00am – 12:30pm.
If you are interested in the apprenticeship we will commit to train and mentor the successful candidate throughout their 4-year apprenticeship of a New Zealand Certificate in Baking (Generalist), Level 4. Whether you are interested in beginning your baking career or looking to return to complete the training you would like to finish - This is your opportunity!!
As a member of the Bakery team, you will contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Bakery Department, ensuring that an ample supply of freshly prepared and expertly prepared bakery products is always available. This role comes with the opportunity for career development and growth within the company. We are looking for a willing candidate to train and develop, who has a passion for food and a commitment to work hard in a supportive and stimulating environment.
You will learn:
- Making pastry and bread doughs.
- Baking, icing and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for displays.
- Producing other bakery specific products as required (scones, muffins, slices, cookies).
- Food Safety standards and documentation processes.
- Merchandising of the product. Ensuring stock rotation through the monitoring of best before dates.

Overseas applicants must have New Zealand Citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency, or a valid New Zealand Work Permit. Pre-employment drug screening will be required as the criteria of the application process.
