The shift leader
is responsible for ensuring the quality of operations and personnel and thereby the quality of the service provided to guests. The position entails 100% in operations, in our à la carte operation, evenings and weekends. Among other things, the shift leader is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that procedures and policies are followed in accordance with the Board’s/O'Learys Support Office instructions

  • Providing regular reports to the immediate manager

  • Ensuring that information from the Board/O'Learys Support Office is routinely passed on to the staff

  • Ensuring correct cash registers and end-of-day reporting

  • Ensuring that all staff clock in/fill in the staff ledger from the Tax Agency

  • Managing service/bar/event/kitchen in day-to-day operations and managing the synchronization with other sections

  • Serving guests and giving advice/information on products as well as presenting the different menus and beverage lists available

  • Serving food and drinks in the restaurant/bars according to given standards/service sequence

  • Ensuring that all food is cooked in accordance with the O’Learys concept

  • Ensuring that the work in the kitchen is performed in accordance with hygienic standards

  • Carrying out any necessary preparation (mise-en-place) according to checklists in each area before service begins

  • Providing excellent service in your area of responsibility and making sure that complaints are handled correctly

  • Ensuring good order in the restaurant, kitchen, activities, and bars according to established procedures

  • Acting as host/hostess in your area of responsibility, staying up to date on reservations, and organizing and preparing the area for guests and/or other events

  • Finding out and resolving issues and, if necessary, consulting with the restaurant manager/head chef.

  • Performing other common tasks as needed

  • Compliance with Norwegian alcohol legislation, specified as service manager on the restaurant’s alcohol license

  • Always setting a good example for other employees, and cooperating to the greatest extent with all colleagues

Workhours: Weekdays and weekends
