Job purpose
Lead the delivery of timely, manage relevant projects and activities for (Electrical, Instrument & Control) to upstream operated Assets under Management Maintenance scope’s by establishing, reviewing & updating reliability of electrical Assets (switchgear, transformers, motors, drivers, UPS/BC, generation system, communication system), and instrument and Control assets (PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, Metering and Process Instrumentation , thereby enabling high standards of day to-day-and planning Maintenance & Risk-based Inspection / inspections across facilities, safety, high levels of availability and delivery of a best practice operational strategies and results; in order to ensure maintenance performance and equipment reliability targets to support safe and efficient operations at the site.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Lead the team of maintenance support and external contractor.
- Development of maintenance contacts and its administration, technical evaluation of tenders, and review contract performance.
- Manage troubleshooting activities for Electrical, Instrument & Control
- Develop and review maintenance strategy for Electrical, Instrument & Control Assets and systems.
- Ensure all fiscal metering equipment is maintained, validated, proved and re-certified as per contractual, legislative and operational requirements.
- Participate in risk assessments for any design modifications and align maintenance requirements based on HAZOPs, IPF (Instrumented Protective Functions) studies, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) ratings.
- Support operations to ensure equipment/system performance is within defined Operating Envelope, and regularly conduct Alarms management reviews.
- Support preparation of maintenance plans for Electrical, Instrument & Control, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop OPEX/CAPEX budget for maintenance and inspection of Electrical, Instrument & Control. Manage spending against approved budget.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Management of change (MOC).
- Development of business cases for new project/modification/upgrading.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, procedures by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Develop and review of spares parts philosophy.
- Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical Electrical, Instrument & Control engineering projects and studies.
- Preparing specifications for purchases of Electrical, Instrument & Control equipment and materials.
- Develop individual development plan and provide effective training base on the competency gab analysis.

Education requirements
Bachelor’s in electrical, instrumentation or related
Language requirements
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) Arabic - Native (desirable)

- In depth knowledge and experience of field instrumentation, Fire and gas systems and analyzers.
- Experience in different DCS, IPS/ESD, FGS and SCADA systems like Honeywell, Emerson and Yokogawa.
- Experience in different PLC systems like Honeywell safety manager, Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Experience in bids evaluation and knowledge of contracts management & spare parts optimization.
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
- Experience of industrial communication protocols and telecom systems.
- Experience of functional safety (SIL) for process industry and its implementation as per IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 guidelines. certified FS engineer by TUV or Exida is preferable.
- Experience in managing small / Minor projects and knowledge of project management techniques.
- Experience in preparing scope of work and requisitions.
- Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
- Experience in reviewing Electrical and Instrument engineering drawings and documents.
- Good experience of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
- Good knowledge of latest Electrical and Instrumentation technologies & network managements systems with cyber security requirements.
- Experience in Gas & condensate Fiscal Metering System for Oil & Gas applications and Validation etc.
- Familiar with SAP system.
- Experience in Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance /calibration / spare parts maintenance etc.
