Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Danfoss Drives A/S. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects and teams, designing, and developing mechanical components and systems for our products, contributing to the overall architectural design of our products, and breaking down tasks to the team. You'll work closely with other engineers and designers, including electrical engineers, but won't have direct management responsibility.
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects and teams, ensuring adherence to design specifications and deadlines.
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for our products, while also contributing to the overall architectural design of our products.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components and systems.
- Break down tasks to the team and ensure successful delegation of tasks to team members.
- Work closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to ensure successful project delivery in our agile development process.
- Create technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Conduct testing and validation of mechanical components and systems.
- Travel to visit suppliers, vendors, and other external partners as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical engineering, architecture, project management, and team collaboration.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, along with a degree in architecture or a related field, would be an advantage.
- At least 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a background or experience in architecture, would be advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as Creo or NX.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components and systems.
- Passionate about leading teams and collaborating within an agile development process to deliver successful projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
